Al-Futtaim Logistics makes continuous efforts towards carbon footprint reduction
Al-Futtaim Logistics continues its efforts to reduce its carbon footprint and to optimise all transport solutions for their fleet of Hino and Volvo trucks.
For a transportation company which operates hundreds of trucks throughout the UAE, green initiatives require boldness and imagination. Al-Futtaim Logistics recently introduced a new concept in its delivery service with the creation of double container road trains, at once reducing the company's carbon footprint, as well as optimising manpower and truck utilisation, whilst clearly demonstrating that environmental improvements can also be cost effective. Initiated by Anna Przygoda, Business Sector Manager, General Transport division, and under the patronage of Raman Kumar, Managing Director, the initial test phase of the new delivery method for IKEA and Al-Futtaim Motors' Parts Distribution Centre was successful, paving the way for the purchase of new trailers and additional driver training.
Ecological impact has today become a standard international business requirement, and as a leading transport company in the Middle East, Al-Futtaim Logistics strives to maintain the highest environmental standards.
